UNESCO takes notice of the archeological sites of the Jomon period as a World Cultural Heritage Site representing a rich lifestyle and spiritual culture.
The finds show how the Jomon people laid the ground for Japanese culture today, and pose the same challenge of sustainability to modern-day Japanese.
