PokéPark Kanto, the first permanent outdoor facility themed around the popular Pokémon franchise, will open on February 5. A press preview was held on January 26.

Located in Inagi City, Tokyo, the park was built within the grounds of Yomiuriland amusement park. Its main attraction allows visitors to walk through a world "inhabited" by more than 600 Pokémon.

A World of Pokémon

The park is divided into three areas: Entrance Plaza, Pokémon Forest, and Sedge Town.

In the roughly 500-meter (1,640-foot) long Pokémon Forest, visitors can stroll along uneven paths, through grassy areas, and up gentle slopes.

Along the way, they can watch Pokémon characters that appear to be running, sharing berries, and going about their daily activities.

Sedge Town features a merchandise shop, restaurants, a carousel, and other attractions. Visitors can also enjoy a parade starring the popular Pokémon characters Pikachu and Eevee.

A spokesperson for PokéPark KANTO LLC, the facility’s operator, said, "We want visitors to feel like Pokémon trainers and enjoy their own adventure."

There are three types of tickets. The Elite Trainers Pass, which allows unlimited access to all areas without time restrictions, costs ¥14,000 JPY (around $90 USD) for adults and ¥11,000 ($70) for children.
