Toyonaka Tsubasa Park has quickly become a popular spot for watching aircraft up close. Located in Toyonaka City, Osaka, the park sits near the Senrigawa embankment southeast of Osaka Itami Airport's runway, offering prime views of planes as they come in to land.
Early Opening
The park partially opened on September 12, immediately attracting crowds of aviation enthusiasts and families. Ahead of its full opening in March 2027, new facilities — including a barbecue area and hands-on farming plots — are being developed, making it an increasingly appealing weekend destination.
Covering about six hectares in the Harada green zone, the park adjoins the Senrigawa embankment, one of Japan's best-known aircraft-spotting locations. From a covered observation deck, visitors can watch and photograph planes as they approach the runway.

Boost to Local Tourism
The Senrigawa embankment has earned high praise on Tripadvisor, drawing visitors from across Japan and abroad. Recognizing its popularity, Toyonaka City began developing the park about three years ago as part of a broader tourism initiative.
In collaboration with Osaka Prefecture and the airport operator Kansai Airports, the city has also paved sections of the embankment and installed benches with sweeping runway views.
"Once considered a nuisance due to noise, the airport has transformed into a place loved by many," said Toyonaka Mayor Shigeki Osanai. "It is a valuable tourist attraction, and we hope many people will enjoy it."
