The water show "Under the Midnight Rainbow," presented by Suntory Holdings and Daikin Industries, will be held daily throughout Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. A press preview of the show took place on April 1.
As the largest daily water show in Expo history, it is set to provide captivating nightly entertainment. The Expo itself will open on April 13.
The show will take place in a 30,000-square-meter (about 323,000-square-feet) area called "Water Plaza," located within the wooden ring section of Yumeshima, the artificial island hosting the Expo.

Water, Light, and Music
The performance will unfold on a stage approximately 200 meters (about 660 feet) wide and 60 meters deep. It will feature a giant screen about 18 meters high and 17 meters wide, with water cascading in elegant curtains. The show will tell the story of a young protagonist and various creatures, communicating through light, fountains, and music.
Performed twice daily after sunset, the show will last around 25 minutes, including an introductory segment. During the press preview, a rehearsal featured over 300 fountains and lighting effects, along with laser projections, creating a magical atmosphere.

Miyuki Maenami, Director of Suntory Holdings' Expo promotion office, shared, "We want this show to leave visitors feeling it was worth coming to the Expo — something that feels like a grand finale."
A free viewing area with seating for around 2,500 people will be available along the embankment of Water Plaza. The area directly in front of the stage will be reserved for about 1,000 people with prior bookings.
