Asakusa Tobu Hotel: A Hello Kitty Heaven

A stone's throw away from the popular tourist destination Sensoji Temple, the Asakusa Tobu Hotel is the only hotel in Tokyo's 23 wards with Hello Kitty-themed rooms.

"The collaboration between a hotel in Asakusa, one of Japan's most famous sightseeing spots, and Hello Kitty, one of Japan's most popular characters, was planned to bring a wide range of customers even more enjoyment," says the Asakusa Tobu Hotel PR representative.

It features two types of Hello Kitty rooms: The Sakura Tennyo and Wa-Modern. No matter your mood, the decor options transport you to a different world.

Entering a Magical Hello Kitty World

As we enter the Sakura Tennyo room, it's hard not to react with a smile. The eye travels on all the painstaking detail that designers have included to enchant customers. It truly is a place to channel one's inner child.

While in the bathroom, one can enjoy pink toilet paper and themed amenities! Sitting on the tatami, guests can heat the water in a Hello Kitty kettle and enjoy a cup of tea while immersing themselves in the peaceful world of Sanrio smiles. Sanrio's vision, "One World, Connecting Smiles," seems to exude from the whole experience.

"People often react with a 'Wow!' as soon as they enter the room. The first impression is quite impactful. Adults also mention the decor is welcoming," explains our guide.

There are six Sanrio rooms available at the Asakusa Tobu Hotel, and booking early is advised. Up to four people can stay in each room. The hotel is a short walk from Asakusa Metro Station.

Tokyo Dome Hotel Collaborates with My Melody and Kuromi

Nestled conveniently in Bunkyo Ward, the Tokyo Dome Hotel is right next to one of the capital's most popular stadiums and annexed entertainment areas, Tokyo Dome City.

Since 2023, the hotel has offered room designs with the adorable My Melody, and the edgy Kuromi.

For the hotels, the collaboration is particularly meaningful. "My Melody's kind heart and Kuromi's energetic personality are very special to us. We strive to be a hotel where our guests can also feel that same sense of warmth and fun, just like these two characters," says a Tokyo Dome Hotel PR representative.

"Many of our customers are young women between the ages of 20 and 40. However, a really wide demographic enjoys staying with us," they continued.

As a bonus, breakfast is included in the My Melody and Kuromi rooms. Additionally, the hotel offers accommodation plans that include desserts featuring My Melody and Kuromi.

A Special Celebration

Happily, My Melody celebrates her 50th anniversary in 2025, and Kuromi celebrates her 20th. Tokyo Dome Hotel is helping fans celebrate these big dates in style.

There are only two rooms that host up to three people each at Tokyo Dome Hotel, so early booking is recommended. The establishment is a short walk from Suidobashi Station.
