Atsuko Okuda graduated from the Tokyo University of Arts and Sciences with a master’s degree. After working as chief curator for the Ota Memorial Museum of Art, she was involved in the preparatory stages of the opening of The Sumida Hokusai Museum. Currently, she is chief curator at The Sumida Hokusai Museum, where she has planned and organized many exhibitions since the museum’s opening. She is also a board member of the International Ukiyo-e Society. Publications include Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, Hiroshige’s Fan Paintings, and many articles and commentaries on Katsushika Hokusai, Yōkai, and fireworks.
