Joseph Wu

Dr Joseph Wu (吳釗燮, full name Jaushieh Joseph Wu) is the Foreign Minister of Taiwan (2018 - present). He earned his PhD in political science in 1989 from Ohio State University. Subsequently he taught at Ohio State while also serving as director of the Institute of International Relations of National Chengchi University in Taiwan. In 2004 he was appointed as Chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council of Taiwan. He served as Chief Representative of Taiwan to the United States from 2007-2008, and in various other positions in the government of Taiwan, before his appointment as foreign minister.
