Inui Street at the Imperial Palace is open to the public until December 8, during the peak of the autumn foliage season in Tokyo. Visitors can enter without prior reservations from 9 AM to 3 PM.
A Stroll Through History and Nature
Inui Street is a tree-lined pathway approximately 750 meters (0.4 miles) long. It begins at Sakashita Gate near Tokyo Station's Marunouchi side, passes the Imperial Household Agency building, and ends at Inui Gate near Kitanomaru Park.
The public opening started in 2014 to commemorate the 80th birthday of Emperor Emeritus Akihito. It has since become a biannual tradition, held during the peak seasons of cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves.
