The POKÉMON × KOGEI exhibition opened on November 1 at Tokyo's Azabudai Hills. Actor Kanata Hongo, known for his role as Armin Arlert in the film adaptation of Attack on Titan, attended the opening ceremony.
A Must-Visit for Fans
A passionate Pokémon fan, Hongo admired the collection of ceramics, woodwork, and dyed textiles inspired by the franchise. "The exhibition was approachable and enjoyable to explore. Pokémon fans won't regret visiting — I hope everyone finds their favorite piece."
Mewtwo Masterpiece
One standout piece is a statue of Mewtwo, crafted in copper and cloisonné by metal sculptor Taiichiro Yoshida.
"You can find characters like Poliwhirl and Duraludon in each metal part," Hongo commented. "The impression you get from viewing it at a distance is different from what you see up close. I was moved by the attention to detail."
The exhibition runs from November 1, 2024, through February 2, 2025.
