Eikando Zenrin-ji Temple in Kyoto is famous for its stunning autumn foliage and special nighttime illuminations. A test lighting was held on November 7 ahead of the official event, which begins on the 15th. The maple leaves just starting to turn red were lit up against the dark night, creating an enchanting glow.

About 3,000 maple trees, including Iroha, Yamamomiji, and Omomiji, were illuminated by roughly 700 lights across the temple grounds. Head Priest Shinko Tominaga said, "This year, we arranged the lights to brighten even the farthest corners of the garden, giving it a slightly different look than usual."

The special nighttime viewing runs from November 15 to December 10. Admission is open from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and the fee is ¥700 (around $5 USD) for visitors from junior high school age and up.
