Hoshino Resorts 1955 Tokyo Bay opened on June 20 in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo Disney Resort. Designed to attract theme park visitors, the hotel recreates the ambiance of 1950s America. The first Disneyland opened in California in 1955.
Rates and Features
The hotel's second floor features a common area for guests, a 24-hour convenience store, and a restaurant with a magnificent view of Tokyo Bay.
It offers 638 rooms in 23 different styles, with rates starting at ¥9,000 JPY (about $57 USD) per night per person for double occupancy, excluding meals. Some rooms have low sofas that can double as beds.
The hotel was created by refurbishing the Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel, which was open from May 2018 until December 31, 2023. Hoshino Resorts, specializing in hotel operations, took over and spent six months refurbishing the interior to evoke 1950s American style. This marks Hoshino Resorts' first hotel in Chiba Prefecture.
The Good Old Times
The hotel's General Manager Chikara Anai explained, "The team studied visitor trends at Tokyo Disney Resort as well as challenges to create a concept that showcases the uniqueness of Hoshino Resorts."
He added, "As a result, we have created a hotel that embodies the good old times of 1955 America with excellent service. We hope to welcome guests from both Japan and across Asia."
Tokyo Disney Resort, located in front of Keiyo Line's Maihama Station, attracts approximately 30 million visitors annually from around the world. On June 6, Tokyo Disney Sea opened its 8th new area, Fantasy Springs, which has been immensely popular.
This highly competitive tourism hub boasts numerous hotels offering exceptional services, and Hoshino Resorts is rising to the challenge with its new brand.
