At the Osaka Expo, which opened on April 13, cash will not be accepted anywhere in the venue — all payments will be cashless. Additionally, certain items, such as camera tripods and canned or bottled beverages, are prohibited, so visitors should be aware of the rules. Here is a summary of key points to keep in mind when visiting:

Prohibited/Unusable Items

Cash
Cash cannot be used anywhere inside the venue. Payment must be made via cashless methods such as e-money or credit cards. Most electronic payment systems — like transit IC cards, ID, and QR code payments — are accepted.

Camera Monopods, Tripods, and Selfie Sticks
These are prohibited as they could be used as weapons. Small, hand-sized selfie sticks that fit in your palm are allowed.

Alcohol, Canned & Glass-Bottled Beverages
These are not allowed to be brought into the venue. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased at food vendors inside.

Pets
Pets are not allowed into the venue. No temporary pet-holding facilities are available either.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the venue. Designated smoking areas are located outside the East Gate, and re-entry procedures are required to access them.

Permitted Items

Food, Including Bento Boxes
Bringing your own bento or other food items is allowed.

Reusable Bottles, Thermoses, and Plastic Bottled Drinks
