On May 22, the usually buttoned-up business district of Marunouchi in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward transformed into a lively arena. Office workers from neighboring companies faced off in a tug-of-war championship held on Naka-dori Street. Laughter and cheers echoed through the streets, drawing curious glances from passersby on their lunch breaks.

Strength and Spirit
Now in its ninth year, the event was created to promote health and camaraderie among working professionals. This time, employees from 80 companies took part, making for a spirited and energetic tournament.
The championship title went to the Sony Life team, who earned the chance to compete in an exhibition match against the Rugby Legends Team, a formidable lineup of former Japan national rugby players.
"They were incredibly strong," said Sony Life captain Shigemasa Tabata, 42, grinning after the match. "It was a real joy to share the rope with athletes of that caliber."
