The United States has just sworn in a new president, and the world is expectedly looking towards Washington for how international relations will look like in 2021.

What will be the approach of Joseph Biden Jr.’s administration towards China? Where will Japan be on the U.S. agenda?

JAPAN Forward will take up these questions and more in a special online event — “Forecast for 2021” — on Tuesday, January 26, at 5:00 P.M. (JST).

Viewers will be able to access the event for free via the Sankei News YouTube channel here.

The program will feature a dialogue between veteran journalists Yoshihisa Komori and Makiko Takita.

Mr. Komori is a longtime foreign correspondent and currently Associate Correspondent - Washington, DC, for The Sankei Shimbun.

Ms. Takita is editor in chief of the monthly Seiron magazine, with extensive experience both as a domestic reporter and foreign correspondent for The Sankei Shimbun.

Hideaki Ota, representative director of the JAPAN Forward Board, will open the event, while editor in chief Yasuo Naito will serve as master of ceremonies.

Those who would like to ask questions on the topics discussed can submit questions in advance by sending an email to info@japan-foward.com. During the live broadcast, the chat function of the video will be open to receive questions.

The event will be held in Japanese without subtitles.

After the forum, editor in chief Naito will introduce the JAPAN Forward team and some of our recent projects, to be followed by brief comments by some of our senior team members.
