The immersive art collective teamLab unveiled its highly anticipated return to Tokyo on February 9, with the grand opening of teamLab Borderless in the heart of Mori Building Co's Azabudai Hills complex. This mesmerizing digital playground, once captivating audiences in Odaiba, has been reborn. In its new home, it promises an even more transformative experience within its unbound walls.

The grand opening ceremony was a spectacle marking the beginning of a new chapter in the world of digital art. As early as 8 AM, an hour before the museum's opening, visitors lined up to begin the journey through teamLab's interactive masterpieces.

Except for several days off each year, the museum is a permanent fixture, operating from 10:00 to 21:00 daily.

teamLab's Borderless World

The museum is home to over 50 independent artworks that form complex interrelationships, creating one borderless world. As the artworks move out of the rooms freely, they form connections and relationships with people. They communicate with other works, influence, and sometimes intermingle with each other.

"We are thrilled to bring teamLab Borderless back to Tokyo, offering a renewed experience that pushes the boundaries of art and technology," said Toshiyuki Inoko, founder and representative director of teamLab.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of immersive experiences, including the Light Sculpture – Bubble Universe, Microcosmoses, and the EN TEA HOUSE, where making tea causes a flower to bloom inside the teacup. Meanwhile, the Sketch Factory allows visitors to turn their own drawings into items to take home.

Taking the Experience Online

teamLab Borderless extends its immersive experience beyond the physical confines of the museum. The newly launched "teamLab Borderless App" allows visitors to continue their artistic journey on their smartphones. It interacts with augmented reality artworks that seamlessly blend with the real world.

The teamLab Borderless experience is expected to be a major draw for tourists and art enthusiasts alike. Already, it is further solidifying Tokyo's position as a global hub for innovative art experiences.
