Akie Abe, the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, is set to meet Donald Trump on December 15. The meeting will take place at Trump's private residence, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida. They are expected to have dinner together. Trump's wife, Melania, is also likely to attend. CNN reported this on December 12.

Trump's Support for Akie After Her Husband's Passing

After Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 United States presidential election, Shinzo Abe became the first foreign leader to meet with him. Their meeting marked the beginning of a strong relationship.

Since Abe's assassination in July 2022, Trump, who regarded Abe as a friend, has occasionally called Akie to check on her well-being, according to CNN. 

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba sought a meeting with Trump during his visit to South America in November. He planned to meet Trump on his way back to Japan, but the meeting did not materialize.
