Teenager Yoshizawa gave Japan its second consecutive Olympic gold while Akama brought in the silver in the skateboarding event that debuted at the Tokyo Games.
In the final qualifier before the Paris Olympics, Japan captured the gold, silver and bronze medals in both the men's and women's street skateboarding events.
The Japanese teenagers, both of whom earned medals at the Tokyo Olympics last year, were second and third in the skateboarding meet in Brazil.
The stellar podium was a teenagers’ triumph, with Brazil’s Leal winning silver at 13 years old, and Japan’s Nakayama winning bronze at 16 years old.
